Although she has a brain tumor, Vanessa has continued to live her life as “normally”as she can, going to school and participating in family activities. She loves to dance and also has continued her REACH! classes. This year, Vanessa’s tumor began to create new problems with her balance and coordination. Her parents wondered whether REACH! would become too difficult for her.
After speaking with the programs leadership, it was clear to her family that everyone wanted Vanessa to continue with REACH! The classes have kept her focused and her mind clear, and she doesnt have to worry about recovery; she only has to focus on dancing and doing what she loves.
Her parents have reported that the discipline and focus on technique have helped improve Vanessa’s physical struggles “but most importantly, it is a safe place to learn, grow and have fun no matter what.”
